To minimize this, the hair undergoes an acid bath that burns off the rough cuticles, leaving it smoother and easier to manage. This step is also what makes it different from donor-cut hair. In China, this type of hair is often called “Shunfa” (smooth hair) or “Tiaoshun” (picked smooth hair).

Q: Should I buy Black Line Hair Extensions or Orange Line?

Both Black Line and Orange Line hair extensions are good quality, but it’s important to set realistic expectations—don’t expect Orange Line quality when buying Black Line hair.

Black Line hair offers some of the best quality available in its price range. Our pricing is 5-10% lower than others offering similar quality and fullness, making it a great value. However, keep in mind that this hair is still processed human hair. The chemical treatments thin out the strands, making it unsuitable for bleaching to light colors like #613 without significant damage. If achieving light colors is a priority, Orange Line hair is the better choice.

Chemical processing also increases the porosity of Black Line hair, leading to frizziness when washed. This is especially noticeable in straight hair, which may require additional frizz control. Orange Line hair, on the other hand, is less affected by these issues and requires less maintenance.

While Orange Line hair is still competitively priced—and often cheaper than competitors selling lower-quality human hair—it is more expensive than Black Line hair and might not fit everyone’s budget. Choose based on your needs and budget!

While some clients have successfully bleached our Black Line bundles to #613, we haven’t been able to achieve this ourselves. For this reason, we recommend limiting bleaching to #27. Going lighter than this will result in thinner, unhealthy hair that’s prone to shedding.

Q: What’s the Weight of Your Black Line Double Drawn Straight Hair Extensions?

In China, bundles are often advertised as 100 grams, but they typically weigh between 80 and 95 grams. If you remove the rubber bands, the weight can drop by 5-10 grams. Our double-drawn straight bundles weigh 95 ± 2 grams without rubber bands and a bit over 100 grams when the rubber bands are included.

It’s hard to give an exact number, as the lifespan depends on how the hair is treated. Top-quality hair in the market can generally last 2-3 years with proper care. However, due to the chemical processing involved, our Black Line extensions have a maximum lifespan of around 1 year with good hair care.
